River Oats is a 2' to 4' tall native perennial cool season grass. This is a beautiful native ornamental grass with flat clusters of drooping seed heads hanging from arching stems. It prefers moist fertile soils but is very tolerant of poor or sandy soils and is extremely tolerant of partial shade. This is a great garden plant for borders, shaded garden sites, native plant gardens and areas along streams and water features.
