Purple Meadow Rue (Thalictrum dasycarpum)

Purple Meadow Rue is a native perennial that prefers full sun to part shade sites in a moist environment.  Individual plants will have either all male or all female flowers.  These plants are not pollinated by insects because the female flowers have no nectar.  Purple Meadow Rue typically grows in damp grasslands, woodland borders, floodplain woodlands, and swampy areas.  Very few animals choose this plant as a food source.
