Virginia Mountain Mint is a 2' to 3' tall native perennial that has a really strong mint smell when crushed. This plant flowers from July through September and features dense showy clusters of small two-lipped tubular flowers. The name is misleading considering the plant is most often found growing in low damp sites. It prefers medium to wet soils and full sun or partial shade. Insects are so attracted to this flower for the nectar that looking out over a seed production field of this plant in the summer there seems to be a heavy haze over the field from so many insects. The fresh or dried leaves are reported to make an excellent tea.
Prices listed are based on pure live seed weight, not bulk weight. You are only paying for viable seed.
